
Jaguar Land Rover has confirmed that Jaguar Racing’s long-term future to the Gen3 era of ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is set to commence in the 2022/23 season.
According to Motorpress, the Jaguar Racing motorsport operation will help develop future technologies and set new benchmarks with its partners as Jaguar will slowly become an all-electric luxury brand from 2025.
The Formula E programme will contribute to Jaguar Land Rover’s commitment to achieving zero tailpipe emissions by 2036 and a net-zero status across its entire supply chain. operators and products by 2039.
Jaguar’s all-electric I-TYPE race cars have won four victories and 12 podiums in 59 Formula E races. Jaguar Racing has an aim to continue its successful long-term partnership with Williams Advanced Engineering into the Gen3 era of Formula E.
The new FIA Formula E’s Gen3 electric race car will make its debut in Season 9 at the end of 2022. It is a lighter, more powerful and efficient all-electric race car. The Formula E car will demonstrate its fast-charging technology and will be delivering some promising racing.
The Gen3 will deliver 350 kW in power respectively (currently 250 kW), while the maximum regenerative braking power will increase from 250 kW to 600 kW.
