Jaguar South Africa has announced that pricing for the new F-Pace will start at R776 800 (or R778 966 including emissions tax) when the performance crossover arrives in July.
As title sponsor of the Jaguar Simola Hillclimb, the automaker used the Knysna motorsport event to introduce the new SUV, with the F-Pace arriving by helicopter.
Built on the brand’s aluminium-intensive architecture, the Jaguar F-Pace employs double-wishbone front suspension and integral link rear suspension.
The range-topper is equipped with a 3,0-litre supercharged V6 engine producing 280 kW and 460 N.m, mated to an all-wheel drive system via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Jaguar claims a zero to 100 km/h sprint time of 5.5 seconds.
Other engines expected to be offered locally include a 132 kW 2,0-litre turbodiesel, a 220 kW 3,0-litre V6 turbodiesel, and a 250 kW 3,0-litre V6 supercharged petrol.
Inside, the F-Pace features the latest version of Jaguar’s infotainment system, a 12.3-inch HD virtual instrument cluster, and a laser head-up display. The crossover will also introduce something the brand calls an “Activity Key”, which is a wearable accessory that also serves as a key fob.
