July 2021 issue of CAR magazine on shelves now!

By: CAR magazine

Even before you fire up its engine, the Audi Spyder R8 V10 buzzes like a rock band tuning up for a headline performance. There’s a low frequency, bass-drum thud as you close the contoured door behind you and in the well-insulated confines of the cabin, the zip and click of fastening your seatbelt sounds like the crackle of static when plugging in an electric guitar. Then the mid-mounted V10 takes centre stage and clears its throat as the opening power chord is struck …

In the July 2021 issue of CAR Magazine, we celebrate the last of a breed – purely internal combustion supercars whose sole purpose it is to enliven all the senses.

Our other headline test is the automotive equivalent of death metal. The 911 GT2 RS is an unhinged, track-focused performance car that effortlessly connects corners with straights at unyielding speed. On the limit, it is intense and will put your physical stamina and driving skills to the test.

Tired of performance cars yet? Thought not. Which is why we also spent some quality time with Alfa Romeo’s most extreme road car ever. Trimmed down, beefed up and more extreme than ever, Alfa Romeo’s Giulia GTA/m promises to be the ultimate sports saloon. But at what cost?

Moving over to cars from the real world, we got behind the wheel of the affordable but competent new Kia Sonet, and everything about it  points to it being the most popular thing since Korean K-pop. Speaking of SUVs, our Drive section also puts the spotlight on the new Haval Jolion as well as the somewhat underrated Hyundai Santa Fe.

Furthermore, you can look forward to seven road tests in the July issue of CAR, with the aforementioned performance cars joined by the Peugeot 3008 GT 1,6 THP and Ford Everest 2,0 SiT AWD XLT Sport, while the Audi S7 TFSI Sportback quattro gets pitted against the Mercedes-AMG E53 Coupé 4Matic+.

The issue is packed with many interesting and informative features, including a behind the scenes look at a very special Italian car collection.

For all this and more, make sure to get your hands on a copy of the July 2021 issue, on sale now.
