Using strategic collaborations to help promote sales and brand identity isn’t new in the automotive world but the Kia EV6 Super Bowl Commercial has portrayed an adorable clip which is a dog lovers delight.
The highly anticipated but foreign Kia EV6 very recently celebrated an accolade from the Good Design Awards. Instead of featuring once again on a catalogue of well designed products, the Korean electric vehicle is the co-star of an adorable commercial that is a proud collaboration with the Petfinder Foundation.
The commercial features a robotic dog with welcoming features akin to that of the new Kia electric vehicle. Conveniently named Robo Dog, the video commences with the fully charged pooch in a store longing to be received into a forever home. As hope dwindles for Robo Dog the owner of an EV6 appears and calmly packs away his charging port before driving off. The electrified dog makes a dash for it and desperately pursues his suitor in a sequence of scenes.
As the pup gets tantalisingly close to its pursuer, a low battery fails on him but is shortly thereafter awoken by the sight of the driver that makes use of an interesting feature of the EV6. Using the same charging port from earlier and a cable attachment, the EV6 is able to reboot the drained pup to full power before driving off together in a jovial mood.
While most campaigns just look at leveraging heartwarming appeal, Kia America has actually joined forces with the Petfinder Foundation with Toni Morgan, executive director stating “Countless animals need loving and forever homes and we hope to place many of them over the coming weeks. The human-animal bond is vitally important and can bring years of happiness, comfort, and companionship to both the animal and owner.”
The Kia EV6 Super Bowl Commercial will certainly bring brownie points to animal lovers that are in the market for a new ev!
