Completing the recently revised Huracán line-up, Lamborghini has unveiled a Spyder variant of its new Evo model for fans who yearn for open-air exhilaration.
Like its coupé sibling, behind the cockpit lies the Performante-sourced naturally aspirated 5,2-litre V10 delivering 470 kW and 600 N.m of torque to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. With the Spyder weighing 100 kg more than the coupé, the 0-100 km/h dash takes slighter longer at 3,1 seconds (as opposed to 2,9 in the tin top), while top speed is listed as 325 km/h.
Braking performance is only slightly compromised with 100-0 km/h taking 32,2 metres rather than 31,9. Stopping power is nevertheless provided by the same 380 mm six-piston front and 356 mm four-piston rear carbon ceramic brake disks.
Handling is aided by a four-wheel steering system as well as four-wheel torque vectoring via the Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata. A magnetic suspension works in conjunction with the “Lamborghini Piattaforma Inerziale” to manage roll, pitch and yaw rates.
Bearing the new Evo moniker, Lamborghini boasts this generation of the Spyder is five times more aerodynamic than the previous model. The brand also promises that the Huracán Evo Spyder will be more comfortable and allow less wind into its cabin. For the record, that retractable roof can be electronically lowered in 17 seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h.
