Land Rover has revealed its new Discovery Landmark Edition, conceived to celebrate 30 years of the nameplate.

Expected to arrive in South Africa in the third quarter of 2019 (with pricing to be announced closer to the time), the special-edition model boasts an expanded list of standard features and a handful of design updates.

Based on the SE trim level, the Landmark Edition adds the Dynamic Pack, which includes a more aggressive front bumper design as well as a “Narvik Black” finish for the mesh grille and fender vents. The hue is repeated on the scripting of the bonnet and tailgate, with the latter furthermore gaining “Landmark” badging.

The Discovery Landmark Edition also scores a fixed panoramic roof, front foglamps, privacy glass and 20-inch “Gloss Black” alloy wheels.

Inside, buyers have a choice of three Windsor leather colour schemes, each with contrast “micropiping”. A “Satin Brushed Aluminium” centre console and titanium mesh finishers are also included, along with a 380-watt Meridian sound system.

In South Africa, the Discovery Landmark Edition will be available exclusively with a 3,0-litre TD6 engine (churning out 190 kW and 600 N.m) paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
