Ahead of the DB9 successor’s debut at the Geneva show, a single image has been leaked of this long-awaited new Aston.
With the Geneva show in early, the image you’re seeing here could either be the actual car or a clever photoshop. Published yesterday by Dutch website Autojunk, there’s been much debate on the internet of its legitimacy.
That aside, here’s what we know can be expected from the Aston Martin DB11:
Engine: a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 good for around 448 kW. That’s a healthy step-up from the current DB9’s naturally aspirated 6,0-litre V12 that puts out 380 kW. As per the agreement signed in late 2013, you can expect an AMG-sourced twin-turbo V8 model to join the line-up later.
Transmission: A six-speed manual gearbox will likely to be offered alongside a modern ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Styling: influenced by the DBX Crossover concept shown at last year’s Geneva show, as well as the CC100 unveiled in 2013 to celebrate Aston Martin’s centenary.
Chassis: An all-new platform that – like the outgoing VH platform – will be a bonded and riveted chassis designed to be scalable and will serve as the basis future models. All-new lightweight suspension has also been developed in-house and features double wishbones at the front and rear. It will also have a longer wheelbase so more interior space is likely.
