Lexus South Africa has made a handful of equipment changes to its RC coupé, while also reducing the starting price of its two-derivative range.
As before, the local line-up comprises two variants: the RC300 EX and RC350 F Sport. While the price of the latter remains R888 500, the EX derivative now costs R746 100, making it some R10 300 cheaper than before.
So, what has Lexus added to the mix? Well, both variants now come standard with an airbag error indicator, which detects problems that may cause the airbag not to deploy, and displays a warning light on the driving meter as a precaution.
In addition, the RC350 F Sport model gains a pre-crash system (which uses alerts, braking assist, pre-collision braking and an active steering assist function) as well as adaptive cruise control.
As before, RC300 EX is powered by a turbocharged 2,0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 180 kW and 350 N.m to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The RC350 F Sport, meanwhile, draws 233 kW and 378 N.m from a 3,5-litre V6 heart.
