The Ferrari F40 is iconic. Its, sound, engine, legacy and looks are almost unrivalled in the world of motoring. It is for this reason that the unveiling of the Liberty Walk wide-bodied F40 has garnered both love and hate.
Liberty Walk is one of the most respected and revered aftermarket tuners and modification workshops in the automotive world. From GT-Rs to Lamborghini, their work is vast and varied. This isn’t the first time that the Ferrari badge has been featured in the LB-Works lineup, but it is the most significant.
What is most apparent is the wide body kit applied to the otherwise slim figure of the F40. The wide body adds a considerable amount of skin to the F40’s figure, which is most noticeable around the car’s wheel arches and the flank of the car. All of the additional revisions to the F40’s design come in the form of new cowls and ducts, a front splitter, side skirts, a rear wing, a diffuser and the aforementioned wider fenders.
While the exterior of the car has seen tremendous changes by the famed aftermarket Bodyshop and tuning company, no confirmation was given by Liberty Walk whether or not they introduced any changes to the sonorous 2,9-litre V8.

However, everything happens for a reason and out of the ashes of a failed dream rose one of the most hardcore and astounding vehicles to grace Ferrari’s stables at the time and arguably to this day.
While some lean towards the idea that deforming the F40’s classic physique is nothing sort of automotive sacrilege, there is no doubt that this is the most expressive take on the F40’s looks.
