Comprising over 190 000 pieces, the life-sized LEGO Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance car has landed in South Africa.

Unveiled at the Mercedes-Benz Experience Centre at Zwartkops Raceway, the life-sized replica of LEGO’s Technic Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance car is the largest LEGO build ever brought into South Africa. Indeed, comprising a whopping 192 937 LEGO bricks, the scaled up model measures an impressive 5 100 mm in length and 2 200 mm in width. For comparison, the 1 642-piece set it is based on, which can be purchased in-store and online, measures 555 mm long, front to rear, and 378 mm wide. The life-sized build, which took eight hours to assemble by a team of expert builders, tips the scales at 913 kg. For interest sake, that’s 124 kg more than the real-life Mercedes-AMG W14 F1 car.
Said Valery Kasimov, newly appointed country manager for LEGO South Africa, “The reveal forms part of LEGO South Africa’s ongoing commitment to celebrating creativity and innovation through play.”
This jaw-dropping build will now head on a nationwide tour, where it will be on display at select shopping centres across the country: Nelson Mandela Square from 16 November to 3 December, Gateway Shopping Centre from 12 December to 5 January 2026, V&A Waterfront from 15 to 25 January, and Sandton City from 5 to 28 February.
“This collaboration between LEGO South Africa and Mercedes-Benz is built on shared values of precision, performance and excellence,” said Claudius Steinhoff, Executive Director MBC and Co-CEO of Mercedes-Benz South Africa. “The LEGO Mercedes-AMG Formula 1 car celebrates our achievements at the pinnacle of motorsport and reflects the innovation, craftsmanship and passion that unite both brands.”
