The Maserati Levante Hybrid has been revealed as an expansion of the Italian manufacturer’s eco-friendly offensive as it follows-up the Ghibli as the second partially electrified offering in its stable. With this derivative, Maserati also introduces a new colour for the SUV range.
Like the Ghibli, the Maserati Levante Hybrid makes use of a single-scroll turbocharged 2,0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine mated to a 48-volt battery which recovers energy during deceleration and braking. The powertrain pushes a combined 246 kW and 450 N.m of torque to all four wheels via an eight-speed VF torque converter. With this, it accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6,0-seconds and can reach a top speed of 240 km/h.
For improved dynamics, the all-wheel drive system makes use of a limited slip self-locking mechanical rear differential. Stopping power is provided by a set of front 345 mm ventilated brake dics with two-piston callipers and rear 330 mm ventilated brake discs with a one-piston calliper.
Claimed fuel consumption has not yet been claimed but based on the WLTP combined cycle, the eco-SUV will spew 231-252 g/km of carbon emissions. Homologated weight has been claimed at 2 090 kg.
The Maserati Levante Hybrid doesn’t boast any notable distinctive design elements, but the launch model is finished in a new metallic tri-coat colour which the brand calls Azzurro Astro. Other interior and exterior trimmings exclusive to the Levante Hybrid include blue air ducts, brake callipers, C-pillar logo and the embroidered seams of the seats.
For a more advanced ownership experience, the Maserati Levante Hybrid makes use of the Maserati Connect program which allows owners to monitor the condition of their car via their smartphone.
