Matt LeBlanc threatens to quit Top Gear!

According to various reports, Top Gear presenter Matt LeBlanc has threatened to quit his role in the show unless co-star Chris Evans is dismissed.

Despite a drop in viewership and popularity, Top Gear fans have been raving about the atmosphere created on-screen by LeBlanc and Evans, but it appears that things are slightly different off-camera.

According to The Sun, LeBlanc had told his producers that he refuses to work on another series with Evans, and that he’d have no part in the future of Top Gear if Evans were to remain.

Who goes and who stays

“His declaration has left BBC bosses -“ who have already agreed to pay Matt for two series -“ with no choice but to pick one host over the other,” reported The Sun.

“And it is believed a second Top Gear series, due to begin filming in September, may be shelved while they make their final decision.”

Is Evans a spoilsport?

A show source told The Sun that on one occasion earlier this month, Chris Evans pretended to bump his head against a wall in frustration when Eddie Jordon kept messing up his lines.

"He also seems to be jealous of the attention and praise which has been heaped on Chris Harris and Rory Reid in particular since the show began.

"You would have thought that with his experience, he would help out those new to studio recording. But he doesn’t encourage them in any way.

"He just isn’t interested. He doesn’t even hang out with the others back stage and firmly keeps his distance from all of them at the aerodrome."
