The McLaren 750S will be discontinued in 2027, just three years after its global debut. This move forms part of a broader portfolio restructuring that represents the future of the iconic British supercar brand…

McLaren Automotive has officially confirmed that final orders for the 750S are now open. Consequently, this marks the end of a legendary supercar platform that has defined the British marque for a decade. Production of the model will formally conclude in 2027. This decision falls precisely ten years after its predecessor, the 720S, first arrived in the global market. The announcement signals the closing chapter for a lineage of lightweight V8 performance cars. The platform achieved major victories in international GT racing and in the World Endurance Championship.
Introduced in 2023, the 750S refined the architecture of the 720S through extensive engineering updates. Specifically, McLaren engineers replaced or modified approximately 30% of vehicle components to elevate performance standards. As a result, the supercar generates 552 kW at 7 500 r/min and 800 N.m at 5 500 r/min from its mid-mounted V8 twin-turbocharged petrol engine and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The platform weighs in at a dry weight of 1 277 kg.
Chief Commercial Officer Henrik Wilhelmsmeyer noted, “The 750S represents everything that defines a McLaren supercar: benchmark performance, thrilling driver engagement, technical innovation, expressive design, and defined personalisation. It will leave behind an extraordinary legacy.”
The McLaren 750S served as MSO’s ideal platform

Beyond standard production specifications, the platform served as a McLaren Special Operations (MSO) canvas. The firm’s personalisation division created high-profile custom projects like the 3-7-59 Theme and Project Viva. These builds demonstrated the extensive customisation opportunities available to buyers. Additionally, this core architectural foundation spawned highly exclusive, limited-run variants. Notable examples include the track-focused 765LT and the recently revealed 788HS, both of which were restricted to a production run of just 200 examples.
McLaren customers have a limited time to get their orders in for the final model year, before assembly in Woking will come to a halt. The 750S’s discontinuation announcement comes just weeks after rumours suggested Artura hybrid production will cease in 2028. This ties into suggestions that the brand is planning a major product restructuring, following the revival of its original branding.
