We’ve known about the McLaren Artura for a while, as have all of the customers who have paid their deposits.
What we don’t know is what it’s like to drive, because they haven’t quite gone into production just yet…
Nevertheless, a track-only version of McLaren’s new hybrid supercar will likely be rather delightful, replacing the current 570S GT4 racing car. McLaren loves racing, so it comes as no surprise that a track version of each of their models is available barring the luxurious GT. A spy video taken at Monza Circuit captures what looks a lot like an Artura with a big wing.
While the video doesn’t get close enough to the car to see the finer details, we can see from the video that there is a large chin spoiler. Other than that, the camouflage does a rather good job of hiding other changes to the hybrid supercar’s details.
As a recap, the Artura was introduced in 2021, featuring a 120-degree 3,0-litre twin-turbocharged V6, mated to a smattering of electric gubbins. Outputs are supposedly 500 kW and 804 N.m, although we are certain that the track car will feature a different powertrain, perhaps without the hybrid tech.
Artura is due to land in South Africa in Q3 of this year following global delays as a result of the incredibly complex semiconductor shortage.
