German company Manhart, best known for its love of tuning BMW products, has released its latest take on the Bavarian-brand’s M2 Competition, the mighty MH2 550.
In true Manhart fashion, the most notable changes to the BMW M2 Competition take place under the bonnet. The 3,0-litre twin-turbo straight-six, which originally produced 302 kW and 550 N.m of torque, has received an injection of 102 kW and 250 N.m of torque. Do some quick maths and the numbers add up to the tuned M2 Competition producing a whopping 404 kW and 800 N.m, which is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The 0-100 km/h time, however, has remained a respectable 4,0 seconds.
A carbon-fibre front splitter and rear spoiler, side wings and 20-inch black Concave One aluminium alloys, contribute to this performance car’s menacing look. This MH2 550 also rides 20 mm lower than the original M2 Competition upon which it’s based. Other cosmetic updates include Manhart logo’s and gold accents seen round the car.
The Wuppertal-based tuner has also fitted an in-house developed exhaust system to add some aural drama to proceedings.
