The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe has been given a makeover for 2021 and although there are no major design changes to speak of, the low-slung saloon has benefitted from a suspension upgrade as well as various interior enhancements, and there’s a new Edition model thrown in for good measure.
Exterior enhancements take the form of new wheel designs as well as three new colour choices, these being Spectral Blue Magno, Spectral Blue Metallic and Cashmere White Magno, which is one of five matt finishes available with the GT 4-Door. Those purchasing the six-cylinder models can also upgrade to the front end design that was previously only available on the V8.
As mentioned there’s a new Edition package available, which boasts a Dark Gemstone paint finish, high-gloss chrome exterior trim, and high-gloss silver 21-inch wheels.
Move inside the revised GT 4-Door models and you’ll see a new AMG Performance steering wheel with a distinctive twin-spoke design and seamlessly integrated buttons. Mercedes-AMG is also offering a wider choice of upholsteries and trims, an example being the Exclusive nappa leather option in Titanium Grey Pearl and black with yellow contrast stitching. If that’s not up your alley, the company is offering five additional nappa leather colours.
Underneath the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door is an improved air suspension system, which features a new damping system. Featuring two pressure limiting valves, the set-up allows the damping force to be adjusted even more precisely, Mercedes-AMG says, with one valve controlling the rebound damping and another taking charge of the compression damping. All in all, the new adjustable damping system offers an even wider spread between comfort and sportiness.
As before, Mercedes AMG is offering GT 43 and GT 53 4Matic + models, both fitted with the 3,0-litre straight-six mild hybrid powertrain, in which the former is tuned to 270 kW and the latter to 320 kW. Mercedes hasn’t mentioned the V8-powered GT 63 and GT 63 S models as yet, but it is assumed that these will be announced separately at a later date.
