GCK Motorsport have announced their extensive 2022 motorsport plans in which they will be participating in the FIA World Rallycross Championship’s inaugural all-electric 2022 season, as well as the newly created FIA Cross-Country World Championship.
GCK Motorsport is perfectly aligned for e-motorsport, given that parent company Green Corp Konnection is at the forefront of the sustainable energy revolution across energy production, energy storage and e-mobility.
The team has confirmed that they will be running a newly designed car which will be unique to the entire Championship, based on their GCK Exclusiv-e retrofit of the iconic Lancia Delta Integrale. The team hopes that entering the Lancia Delta Evo-e into rallycross will celebrate and bring back to life the legend of the famous 6 WRC Constructor Championship winning car.
GCK Motorsport will be lining up against 13 other teams, all making use of the Austrian-made Kreisel electric drivetrain. With 500 kW and 880 Nm on tap, these vehicles are capable of accelerating faster than a Formula 1 car – this will almost certainly be very entertaining.
Not only will GCK be lined up on the grid in 2022, the will also be feeding power back into the grid, by using a combination of solar energy and power collected from green energy networks ahead of race weekends. They will then supply electricity to recharge the batteries of all cars between races from its custom containers, thus making this new generation of World Rallycross one of the most environmentally conscious disciplines in motorsport.
In addition to this GCK Motorsport’s biofueled Thunder will return to the FIA Cross-Country World Championship and the e-Blast H2 hydrogen vehicle will be presented at the Dakar Rally’s dedicated day to the future of Dakar.
