A specially tuned R35 Nissan GT-R has set the Guinness World Record for the fastest drift at an astonishing 304,96 km/h. The event was held at the Fujairah International Airport in the UAE.
Behind the wheel as Masato Kawabata, the Japanese drift champion. However, this was no ordinary MY2016 Nissan GT-R. The engine size was increased to 4,0-litre, while further developments increased power to 1 029 kW!
Nissan’s all-wheel-drive system was also dropped in favour of a rear-wheel drive setup – the latter better suited to drifting.
