Find a squadron of Prancing Horses released from their stables and strutting their stuff at Kyalami this weekend after a 3 year hiatus. The SEFAC Ferrari track day will boast dozens of Maranello models with the all new SF90 too, the most powerful to date.
After 3 years of absence due to crowd limiting restrictions which still somewhat hamper gatherings today, the Southern Equitorial Ferrari Automobili Club (SEFAC) will be hosting their annual Ferrari track day on the historic surfaces of Kyalami. Starting on Saturday, the 11th of June at 8:00, the full day event is a rare opportunity to sample the sights and sounds of the V6, V8 and V12 creations of Enzo Ferrari.
Confirmed in the on track lineup is the most powerful model to be adorned with the Prancing Horse yet; the Ferrari SF90 which combines electrification with an ICE to put out 1000 hp. For the purists, the ultra rare F40s which were limited to 1 311 units will also be in attendance and will undoubtedly garner serious interest from onlookers.
Greg Marucchi from SEFAC stated: “The prestigious event which first took place in 1979 – the same year of local Jody Scheckter’s Formula 1 World Championship Victory in a Ferrari has become the ultimate celebration of Ferrari on the African Continent.”
Marucchi further states that the winter showing reigns in as many as 150 models in the member-only event. Onlookers can enjoy the warm winter sun while the machinery on track makes the most of the cooler temperatures for all-out performance.
Tickets for the day range from R350 to a VIP R750 entry with value for money family packs included too. Prospective spectators can buy theirs here with off-track entertainment including the realistic Formula 1 Simulator for those looking to have virtual fun without the concern of potential real-life damage.
