The Temple of Speed as the Monza circuit is more affectionately known is one renowned for the highest full throttle ratio of all Grand Prix circuits at 68%. Therefore, the latest video by Pagani Automobili of their Huayra R on the circuit provides the best aural satisfaction you are guaranteed to hear today.
Over the weekend, the most extreme performing and lightweight track-only Huayra R was unleashed at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza where the majority of the circuit has challengers at full throttle and reaching impressive top speeds. That means that the naturally aspirated V12-R motor which churns out 625 kW and 750 N.m was able to sing its tune all the way up to the redline in what we can only imagine was a deafening experience for not only the driver but spectators around the circuit too.
The motor is exclusively used in the Huayra R and reaches maximum track performance up to the red line of 9 000 rpm. In addition to these specs, the pinnacle of Pagani Automobili technological development tips the scales at a truly feathery 1 050 kg which gives it an equally impressive power to weight ratio. Another flabbergasting number is the price tag which will set its 30 buyers back €2,6 million or about R44 million.
The Huayra R, performing on Sunday the 19th of June was part of the experience for the Milano Monza Open-Air Motor Show better known as MIMO. The event, in its second year, is a motor show based within the city of Milan which also links to the famed Mille Miglia which took place over the same weekend.
While the Huayra R can only be used in the confines of a private race track, the most recently launched Codalunga can venture out onto public roads. Read more about the longtail derivative here.
