The new G20-generation BMW 3 Series has only just been revealed at the Paris Motor Show, but the Bavarian automaker has already launched an extensive range of M Performance Parts for the latest iteration of its sports sedan.
BMW says that while these parts lend the 3 Series a “more dynamic and striking” appearance, many also bring a functional advantage (for example, positively impacting on the car’s aerodynamic properties).
The package of M Performance aerodynamic and exterior components for the new 3 Series comprises as many as ten items, with individual components offered in finishes such as high-gloss black or carbon-fibre.
There’s the M Performance front splitter and the M Performance front splitter pro, as well a special rear spoiler and rear diffuser – all of which BMW says optimise the air stream around the vehicle while reducing uplift.
The M Performance side-mirror caps are fashioned from carbon-fibre, while side sill films stretching over the entire lower sill are also offered. The M Performance tailpipes, meanwhile, feature what BMW describes as a “high corrosion resistance and a long service life”, thanks to their material mix of titanium and carbon-fibre.
The M Performance braking system (with 18-inch discs) features red brake callipers. The discs themselves are perforated, grooved and lightweight, with a higher thermal resistance, while the four-piston callipers are made of aluminium. Initially, the range of M Performance wheel sets will comprise four designs in two sizes (18- and 20-inch).
Inside, you’ll be able to specify an M Performance steering wheel, with distinctive grip areas and large thumb rests, red centre marking and silver-grey, hand-sewn cross-stitch seam. The racy look can be further enhanced with the adoption of carbon-fibre shift paddles and a steering wheel trim panel made of carbon-fibre with an Alcantara insert and “M Performance” inscription.
Other options include an M Performance slide set for the LED door projectors and a key wallet made of Alcantara with carbon-fibre insert.
