Kia has released an official sketch previewing its next-generation Grand Sedona, promising the people-mover will gain a “more stylish presence” and an “SUV-inspired” design.
Known in many other markets as the Carnival, the Korean firm’s flagship minivan will again be pitched at families looking for a flexible people-mover.
Kia says the new model will build on its predecessors’ “heritage in the mid-sized MPV segment” with a “stronger, more stylish presence, futuristic new details and an SUV-inspired design”. In fact, the firm’s designers have apparently dubbed the new model a “Grand Utility Vehicle”.
Up front, the new Grand Sedona’s headlamps will be linked to the latest interpretation of the brand’s signature “tiger-nose” grille. The company promises “a bold character line” will run the length of the vehicle, effectively linking the front and rear lamps. The glasshouse, meanwhile, will be “characterised by a new chrome fin which extends to surround the rear”.
Kia says the new model is scheduled to hit the market in Korea in the third quarter of 2020, with global sales to follow thereafter. Expect real images and more details to be released soon…
