With only a few days until the Beijing Auto Show, Lexus teased its upcoming ES with a close-up image of the luxury Japanese brand’s latest spindle-grille design. The manufacturer has announced in a brief report that its all-new ES sedan “will radically transform the driving experience for luxury consumers all over the world”.
The next-generation ES is billed as a completely new model that will make use of the Toyota New Global Architecture (TGNA). This platform will be shared amongst various upcoming Toyota products such as the recently unveiled Auris, RAV4 and Lexus UX. The TGNA architecture is also rumoured to underpin a new Toyota bakkie, too.
For the upcoming ES, the platform should ensure better packaging and less mass, in turn having a positive impact on comfort and handling.
