The facelifted Opel Mokka has touched down in South Africa. We’ve rounded up everything you need to know about the refreshed model, including what it costs on our shores…
Introduced to South Africa in 2022, the current-generation Opel Mokka has received a timely update, with the German marque handing its boutique crossover/SUV a few exterior and interior revisions to bring it up to date to the firm’s refreshed SUV lineup, alongside the new Grandland, which we sampled at the local launch in July 2025.
The updated Mokka sports Opel’s new Vizor front facia, redesigned fore and aft bumpers, new Opel badging, and updated LED headamps. The Edition model rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels, while the GS Line receives a set of 18-inch items. The latter, flagship model also gains a black contrast roof as standard.
Stepping inside, the interior has received refreshed styling and upgraded tech, including the automaker’s Pure Panel cockpit layout, which houses a duo of 10-inch displays for infotainment and instrumentation, respectively. Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and smartphone charging, and USB-C ports are included in the package. The Mokka also comes standard with a heated steering wheel and electrochromic rear-view mirror. The Edition features cloth seats, while the GS Line boasts leather-trimmed pews with heating and massaging functionality.
Standard safety features include parking sensors and blind-spot monitoring, while GS Line adds adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, a rear camera, and additional parking sensors.
Both the Edition and GS Line are powered by a 96 kW 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Opel claims the turbo-triple sips a 5.3 L/100km.
2025 Opel Mokka Price in South Africa
The 2025 Mokka is priced from R 519 900 and R564 900 for the Edition and GS Line, respectively. Pricing includes a five-year/100 000 km warranty and a three-year/60 000km service plan.
