Scheduled to launch in South Africa in September 2026, we have pricing for the GWM P500 with 3.0-litre turbodiesel. See pricing below…

In our Every bakkie confirmed for SA feature, we highlighted the several new bakkies and derivatives of existing models set to arrive in our market this year. Among the latter was the inclusion of a new 3.0-litre turbodiesel model to GWM’s local P500 lineup. Previewed at the 2026 Festival of Motoring, and with a launch date set for September 2026, we can now confirm SA pricing for the 3.0-litre P500.
As we reported in July 2026, the 3.0-litre, four-cylinder turbodiesel powertrain churns out 170 kW and 620 N.m of torque – the former and latter signifying increases of 35 kW and 140 N.m over the Chinese automaker’s 2.4-litre oil-burner, which is available in the P300, P500, and Tank 300. The larger-capacity unit can be had with the choice of either a 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrain, both of which paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

As a reminder, the 3.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged oil-burner available with the D-Max produces 140 kW and 450 N.m, while the Ford 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel employed by select Ranger and Amarok models are endowed with 184 kW and 600 N.m.
