The 2027 Jeep Wrangler arrives with some functional and specification updates, intended for a global market release. A host of new special edition variations add appeal to next year’s range.

The 2027 Jeep Wrangler range debuts in America with major updates, expanded global model choices, and standard equipment upgrades. The global 2027 release broadens the family to include Sport, Sport S, Willys, Sahara, Rubicon, Rubicon X, Willys 392, and Moab 392 models. Not all of these will be introduced to foreign markets.
Entry-level 2027 models get substantial interior enhancements. The Sport, Sport S, and Willys now include a 7.0-inch TFT colour instrument cluster as standard. Sport S and Willys variants add passive entry, while the two-door Willys receives a vented power dome hood to match its four-door sibling.
Higher trim levels elevate cabin comfort and trail technology. The 2027 Sahara features standard McKinley trimmed seats, side steps, a nine-speaker Alpine audio system, embedded navigation, rear park assist, blind spot detection, cross path detection, auto-dimming rearview mirror, auto high-beam headlights, a universal garage door opener, and a front off-road TrailCam. The Rubicon upgrades to standard heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and built-in navigation. Five Twelve 4 Twelve special editions carry over, including the Moab 392, Willys 392, Whitecap, Rewind, and Rockslide.
Engine performance and off-roading abilities remain traditional
Under the bonnet, three distinct powertrains are available. The 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder delivers 201 kW and 400 Nm of torque via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 3.6-litre V6 generates 213 kW and 353 N.m of torque, mated to a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic. The flagship 6.4-litre V8 produces a class-exclusive 350 kW and 637 N.m of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Off-road metrics remain exceptional across the range. Key highlights include a maximum towing capacity of 2 268 kg, maximum crawl ratios up to 100:1, and a breakover angle of 32.4 degrees. The vehicle offers 47.4-degree approach angles, 40.4-degree departure angles, up to 328 mm of ground clearance, and 864 mm of water fording depth. Drive systems include Command-Trac, part-time or full-time Rock-Trac, and Selec-Trac full-time 4×4 setups.
The 2027 Jeep Wrangler’s committment to open-air freedom

Open-air freedom features the Sky One-touch powertop, toolless door removal, and a foldable windshield. Fresh paint choices expand customisation options. Core shades include Black, Bright White, Firecracker Red, Granite Crystal, Hydro Blue, Earl Grey, ’41, and Joose. Late-availability colours introduce Gobi, Sting Gray, Hella Yella, alongside new additions Ghost, limited-edition Fathom Blue, and limited-edition Gum 31. The enhanced 2027 Jeep Wranglerlineup delivers capability and modern luxury for every adventure.
In South Africa, off-road enthusiasts have access to a more streamlined lineup, with the 2026 model year consisting of only two four-door options, namely the 2.0-litre turbocharged Sahara and Rubicon variants. Jeep South Africa is yet to confirm which of these updated trims will be introduced to our region.
