The facelifted Ford Mustang is set to arrive in South Africa in the very near future, but local Roush distributor Performance Centre has already detailed its 529 kW upgrade for the Blue Oval brand’s famous pony car.

The 2019 Roush Stage 3 kit starts with Ford’s 331 kW naturally aspirated 5,0-litre V8 engine and adds a TVS 2650 supercharger. As a result of this forced induction, claims the tuner, peak outputs swell to 529 kW and 827 N.m. The Stage 3 package furthermore includes custom Roush-designed 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Continental ExtremeContact Sport tyres.

Other core components of the kit are listed as various aerodynamic body elements (including a diffuser kit, front spoiler with wheel shrouds and a body-coloured rear spoiler), a high-flow upper grille (complete with the requisite “3” badge), bonnet vents, a side body scoop, decals along the flanks (plus graphics on the bonnet), “Roush” fender badges and a rear blackout panel (with yet more “Roush” signage).

Furthermore, the windscreen gains a special banner, while numbered plaques have been added to the engine bay and the cabin’s facia. Inside, you’ll also find Roush-branded floor mats, illuminated door-sill plates and leather seats, along with billet performance pedals.

Performance Centre says the Stage 3 conversion will cost you about R700 000 on top of the purchase price of the vehicle itself (which, in the case of the 5,0 GT Fastback 10AT, is R915 800). The package is backed by a three-year/ 60 000 km “limited drivetrain warranty”.

In addition, the tuner offers various options, including adjustable coilover suspension systems, different wheel designs, a Roush-branded (boot-mounted) tool kit, quarter-window scoops and locking lug nuts. There’s also an optional Roush active exhaust system available.
