The Abarth F595 has been revealed to showcase the brand’s contributions to Formula 4 by implementing some of the sport’s innovations in the engine bay and acts as a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Formula Italia single seater by Carlo Abarth. The new edition will be available in hatch or convertible guise with automatic and manual options.
Using the brand’s T-Jet turbocharged 1,4-litre four-cylinder engine, the Abarth F595 adopts a supercharged Garrett turbo with a geometric compression ratio of 9:1 to deliver 121 kW and 230 N.m of torque from 2 250 r/min.
With the five-speed manual transmission equipped, the Abarth F595 will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7,4 seconds while the optional five-speed automated manual shifter will deliver a time of 7,3 seconds. Both transmissions boast a top speed of 218 km/h.
Enhancing its aural presence is a Record Monza Sovrapposto active exhaust that extends into four tailpipes in a vertical configuration. Drivers can control the active exhaust valve to increase volume by a simple press of the Scorpion-design button mounted on the dash.
The Abarth F595 features “Rally Blue” design cues as highlighted in the rearview mirror caps and the front and rear bumpers. The dynamic look is further enhanced by the Sport design 17-inch Formula alloy wheels and the F595 identification badge on the rear and fog lamps.
Within the cockpit, a leather steering wheel and leather Abarth sports seats complement black trimmings such as the new infotainment display frame and matte black dashboard. The new Rally Blue design cues will be available in combination with Race White, Campovolo Grey, Track Grey, Scorpion Black, Record Grey and Tarmac Grey body paint colours.
Enhancing dynamics, the Abarth F595 sports a set of Koni rear shock absorbers with Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) technology is standard in order to improve performance, ensure perfect road holding and simultaneously improve handling and stability.
Alongside activating the active exhaust valve, the Scorpion mode selector also acts on peak torque delivery by re-calibrating the power steering and engine response to the accelerator pedal, making them more responsive. The Abarth-designed braking system provides optimal response times and improved safety, consisting of 284 mm front and 240 mm rear ventilated discs.
