The Audi A8 and S8 have been updated for 2022 with a new set of design cues and updates to the software. The German brand say that these changes have been made to give the sedan more presence on the road.
At the front of the updated Audi A8, the base of the Singleframe grill is now wider while the chrome angles are increased in size from bottom to top. The side air intakes are more upright while the headlamps now boast a lower edge on the outside to create a distinctive contour.
From a side view, of the Audi A8, the roof dome runs flat while stretched lines in the body of the car emphasize its length, wide wheel arches hint at the Quattro drive system.
In all model variants, the rocker panel area has a concave shape and ends in a blade pointing toward the road. The rear sports wide chrome clasps, a customisable taillamp signature with digital OLEDs and a continuous, segmented light strip.
For those wanting a bit more presence from their Audi A8, the chrome exterior package and the new S line exterior package. The latter gives the front end distinctive blades in the area near the side air intakes complementing the front view. The look can be further enhanced with the additional black appearance package.
Within the cabin, the Audi A8 boasts the MMI Navigation Plus as standard which now boasts the third generation modular infotainment toolkit. The standard online and Car-2-X services from Audi connect augment the navigation system.
Where engine options are concerned, the updated Audi A8 will be offered with the turbocharged 3,0-litre V6 with a power output of 250 kW and 500 N.m of torque. The flagship A8 and S8 sports the brand’s twin-turbocharged 4,0-litre V8 with a power output of 338 kW and for the former and 420 kW for the latter. All variants transmit power to the wheels via an eight-speed torque converter.
