The Audi Q5 E-Tron has been unveiled as a Chinese market exclusive premium SUV which sources its underpinnings from the Volkswagen ID.6. With this, the new EV adopts a six/seven seater cabin configuration to accommodate larger families.
The Audi Q5 E-Tron measures 4 876 mm long with a wheelbase of 2 965 mm. It will be sold in 40 and 50 states-of-tune with the former being rear-wheel drive and the latter, Quattro. The 40 is powered by an 83,4 kWh battery pack which delivers 148 kW while the 50 employs the same unit to deliver 222 kW. Later on down the line, a 35 will be introduced which will use a 55 kWh battery to deliver 130 kWh to the rear wheels.
The Audi Q5 E-Tron, which uses the group’s MEB platform, will remain a Chinese exclusive as the Q6 E-Tron has already been earmarked for global markets. This model is due to be revealed next year with the all-new PPE platform that will also underpin future Porsche products.
