Audi has decided that the RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback were in need of a bit more power (!) and to solve that issue they have created the Performance as a package to spice up these, already powerful, executive vehicles.
The Performance cars will now deliver 445 kW (33 kW more than the standard ones) from the 4,0-litre twin-turbo V8 while the 700 N.m figure remains unchanged. The RS models will also feature an overboost button beneath the accelerator which will increase the torque to 750 N.m, provided the car is in its ‘dynamic’ driving mode. Drivers will also be aware of this package’s overboost presence thanks to a red light that will illuminate the boost pressure gauge when activated.
With this increase in power, the RS models are now able to achieve a claimed 0-100 km/h time of only 3,7 seconds and carry on to 305 km/h if you purchase the optional dynamic package. Cylinder deactivation will also be offered on these models.
The air suspension in the Performance models has also been tuned and placed on exclusive 21-inch cast aluminum wheels, while the interior will feature a black interior with blue or red stitching and accents.
Local pricing of these Performance editions will be revealed in the near future.
