Beefed-up bakkie! Ford Ranger double-cab gets bold widebody treatment

By: CAR magazine

Carlex Design’s bakkie division has released a new widebody kit for the Ford Ranger, handing the double-cab bold exterior styling and upgrades for the cabin.

Pickup Design says the fresh package for the Blue Oval brand’s popular bakkie combines “off-road style, massive body contours and a sporty and comfortable interior”.

The body kit includes a raft of add-on trim pieces for the Ranger’s front end, along with hefty wheel arch extensions, chunky side-steps and a powder-coated styling bar. There are also 18-inch black alloys wrapped in BFGoodrich all-terrain rubber.

Inside, the Polish company says it has “reshaped” the front seats and trimmed them in a mix of “top-quality leather” and “original Italian Alcantara”. The steering wheel, too, has been retrimmed.

Pickup Design makes no mention of what’s happening under the bonnet, so we’re assuming the powertrain has been left untouched…
