New reports suggest that an upcoming two-seater sports car from Bentley will arrive by 2019, bearing the Barnato moniker.
Set to draw inspiration from the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept unveiled at the 2015 Geneva International Motor Show, the new model will take its name from Woolf Barnato, former Bentley chairman and three-time Bentley Le Mans 24 Hours winner.
The Barnato is expected to sit alongside the Continental GT in the British automaker’s range.
According to Auto Express, Bentley filed a trademark application for the Barnato nameplate some two years back, submitting it along with one for the Bentayga name.
Of course, the Bentayga luxury SUV has already been launched (here’s how much it costs in South Africa, if you really have to ask), with the automaker now apparently looking to fast-track the development of a coupe version.
Last year, Bentley boss Wolfgang Dürheimer confirmed that the brand wanted to make the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept a reality, and it seems that the Barnato may well turn out to be just that.
