The BMW E30 M3 has been one of the most sought-after icons in the current collectors and tuning sphere and with advancements in design and technology, the latest round of creations have been almost out of this world with some even taking this a bit too far maybe. One such example of this is the DTM-inspired M3 build by Instagram-user lookmush.
Built in collaboration with BMW E30 body kit experts Live to Offend, lookmush’s latest creation pays tribute to the #43 1991 BMW E30 M3 DTM racecar piloted by Allen Berg. Together with this kit, a set of Brixton forged turbofan alloy wheels have been applied with a set of Toyo racing tyres. Lowering the ride rather close to the ground is an Air Lift Performance suspension kit.
The body kit used on this BMW E30 M3 is rather conclusive as it provides a new front bumper with a prominent fixed splitter, flared wheel arches and side skirts at the side and a massive two-step rear wing complemented by a bold diffuser fitted to the custom rear bumper. As found on the DTM car that inspired this project is the Tic Tac-branded livery.
The source of the design was provided by notable digital artist Kyza Saleem who has done extensive work in the gaming and aftermarket industries.
As a source of power, the Instagramer fitted BMW’s S52B32 with turbocharging which has been tuned to over 597 kW. This is sent to the rear via an upgraded five-speed manual gearbox sourced from the E36 M3 together with a limited-slip rear differential. All-in, the project took three weeks to put together.
