The open-top BMW M440i xDrive Convertible has been given a modest revision at the hands of dÄHLer Competition Line. Included in this package is an increase in power, some suspension upgrades and minor visual revisions.
Using the brand’s B58 twin-scroll turbocharged 3,0-litre straight-six, the BMW M440i xDrive Convertible has had its standard power output of 285 kW and 500 N.m of torque increased to 334 kw and 640 N.m thanks to a stage two performance package. If you want a smaller dose of power, the Swiss firm offers 316 kW and 610 N.m stage one kit as well. The eight-speed torque converter which distributes power to all-four wheels has remained unaltered.
dÄHLer has not noted how this increase in power affects the performance figures but as a reference, the standard BMW M440i xDrive Convertible, as per the brand’s claimed figures, will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4,9 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 km/h.
For improved sound, the tuning house offers a stainless steel exhaust system with ceramic-coated 90 mm twin tailpipes and an Eventuri intake system. Furthermore, a CAN-bus-guided flap control system allows owners to adjust the volume of the exhaust note as they demand.
Giving the BMW M440i xDrive Convertible enhanced handling characteristics is a sports spring set which works in conjunction with the car’s electronic damper system. If you want a more customisable system, dÄHLer offers a competition coilover suspension which boasts adjustable height and compression and rebound damping.
This package is rounded off by a set of 20-inch dÄHLer CDC1 forged alloy wheels which are mated to a set of 245/35 ZR20 front and 285/30 ZR20 rear Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres. Furthermore, M-style exterior mirror caps, which can be finished in carbon at an additional cost, are offered to those who wish for a more sporty and distinctive look.
