BMW specialist AC Schnitzer beefs up the A90-generation Toyota Supra

BMW specialist AC Schnitzer has expanded its brand portfolio by creating an aftermarket upgrade for the new Toyota GR Supra.

Considering this Japanese sportscar is based on the BMW Z4 platform, the move makes sense. The tuner is offering all sorts of kit for the A90-generation model, including a comprehensive aero package, a slight bump in power and updates to the suspension, wheels, exhaust system, interior trim.

Retaining the twin-scroll turbocharged 3,0-litre straight-six, AC Schnitzer has fitted its in-house engine optics ECU which pushes power up from the standard 250 kW and 500 N.m of torque to 294 kW and 600 N.m. Sound is improved by a rear silencer with one carbon “Sport” or “Sport Black” tailpipes each side.

Handling is updated as well courtesy of AC Schnitzer’s adjustable RS suspension, which lowers the car by 25 mm. For those who seek a less intense ride, a 15 mm spring kit is available, too. The suspension works in conjunction with a set of 20-inch AC3 Lightweight or AC1 Leichtmetallfelgen forged alloy wheels.

Visuals of the GR Supra are enhanced by the AC Schnitzer front splitter, bonnet vents with carbon inserts and a carbon-fibre rear wing. For those who want a bit more downforce, a carbon-fibre Gurney flap can be fitted to the wing. Other updates include a branded licence-plate holder and AC Schnitzer badging.

In the cabin, you’re greeted by AC Schnitzer aluminium gear shift paddles, pedals, key holder and iDrive cover for the centre console.
