German tuning company Brabus is renowned for upgrading high-end vehicles, however the Bottrop based brand has been feverishly working on projects over the past few months. The latest of which includes a modified Rolls-Royce Ghost which has been tastefully improved.
This includes both visually and mechanically since the modified Rolls-Royce Ghost, now called the Rolls-Royce Ghost Brabus 700, receives 700 hp (515 kW) as its name states. Its torque has also been increased to 950 N.m which is available from as little as 2,000 rpm while its top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h. This is a 95 kW and 100 N.m improvement over its already capable, stock counterpart.
The new engine control unit and optimised performance exhaust system means that the British sedan can catapult to 100 km/h in just 4,6 seconds. The exterior has also been tweaked with Brabus signature, subtle tweaks which include a front spoiler that mounts to the factory bumper, side air intakes, a subtle lip spoiler, a carbon fibre diffuser and exhaust pipe finishers on the lower quadrant of the rear bumper. The tuner mentions that these components reduce front-axle lift at high speeds but we think it creates an ominous look on the sleek sedan.
That is also compliments of 22-inch rims (also available in 21-inch and four different designs). Staying in the region of the wheels, Brabus further state that the modified Rolls-Royce Ghost is also capable of improved handling and optimised brake ventilation and cooling. To aid in the menacing stance, a specially designed lowering module with air suspension corresponds directly with the sizable wheels which can adjust the height by as much as 30 mm.
The final product has been tastefully modified while retaining the elegance of the British sedan although with a standard model costing well over R11 million, we can’t imagine purchasing one will do your bank account any favours.
