The Chery OMODO 5 will be introduced to the South African market late next year as a high-end offering that’ll join the Chinese brand’s current SUV strategy. The new model boasts a number of aesthetic design cues both inside and out together with impressive safety and standard specification claims.
The Chery OMODO 5 will ship standard with two integrated and curved 10,25-inch high-definition digital screens that will act as the instrument cluster and infotainment system. The driver and front passenger can expect integrated sport front seats. The manufacturer also confirms that the cabin will offer a comprehensive list of the most modern technologies and creature comforts.
The Chery OMODA 5 platform, being one of the first new models to ride on Chery’s next generation architecture, will be offered with both internal combustion engines and hybrid, electric or hydrogen systems. The platform also meets global five-star safety ratings.
“There are few other industries that have the opportunity to combine beautiful design and mechanical performance like the automotive industry,” says Tony Liu, Executive Deputy General Manager, Chery South Africa.
“Unfortunately, motorists who have been enticed by beautiful and futuristic designs from motor shows are left with very watered-down designs when these designs reach the showroom floor. We are changing that with models like the OMODA 5.”
