Pricing for the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro has been confirmed for South Africa almost a month after the Chinese manufacturer detailed the list of standard features. The subcompact crossover will be available with two engine options and a rather competitive engine warranty.
Kicking the range off will be the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro 1,5 Urban at R269 900 which will be driven by a naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine to the front wheels via a five-speed gearbox. This delivers 85 kW and 141 N.m of torque. This is topped by the Comfort CVT at R299 900 which uses the same engine with a continually variable transmission.
The naturally aspirated models are fitted with a 3,5-inch screen at the centre of the instrument cluster together with a four-speaker system for the 10,25 touchscreen infotainment system. The Urban and Comfort trims also benefit from air conditioning, keyless entry, six airbags and traction and electronic stability control together with roll stability control.
The Chery Tiggo 4 Pro 1,5T Elite 6MT acts as the base-level turbocharged offering with a price of R319 900. Powering this unit is a four-banger with an output of 108 kW and 201 N.m of torque. In this trim, it is also available with a CVT for R349 900. The top-of-the-range Elite SE CVT ends the line-up off with an asking price of R359 900.
This trim benefits from a 7,0-inch digital instrument cluster, a six speaker system, dual-zone climate control and a sunroof. Elite models further benefit from full leather upholstery and an electrically adjustable driver’s seat.
The Elite SE acts as a special edition model and includes red detailing above the front and rear skid plates as well as the brake callipers, red detailing in the cabin, a multi-colour LED ambient lighting system and puddle lights in the side mirrors with special threshold welcome lights for the driver and front passenger.
All models come standard with a rather impressive one-million km/10-year engine warranty together with a five-year/60 000 km service plan as standard.
