Another tuned Ford Mustang has broken cover but interestingly, this time around it caters towards the UK market. Badged as the Clive Sutton CS850GT, this custom offering has been configured for those who feel a bit let down by the fact that the Shelby GT500 is available exclusively to the North American market.
Adding drama to the Clive Sutton CS850GT is a Whipple supercharger, intercooler and aftermarket exhaust system which brings the once naturally aspirated 5,0-litre V8 engine’s standard power output of 343 kW and 596 N.m of torque up to 632 kW and 902 N.m. this power is sent to the rear wheels via a short-shifting six-speed manual gearbox. Providing a more muscular tone to the V8 is a Quad Active Xforce exhaust system.
In order to manage this additional power, the Clive Sutton CS850GT has been fitted with remastered front and rear anti-roll bars, stronger bracing and new subframe components. An upgraded DBA brake system has been installed to the front and rear axles to ensure that the fettled muscle car’s stopping capabilities are improved.
Visual changes to the Clive Sutton CS850GT include a body kit that draws inspiration from the aforementioned GT500 that is complemented by a set of 20-inch Vossen forged alloy wheels. Within the cabin, a red billet started button has been fitted to the dash and is joined by a Clive Sutton performance steering wheel. Track-focused owners may opt for the Sutton carbon track spoiler while those owners seeking the most distinctive style may opt to customise the interior colours to further individualise the car.
All-in, the Clive Sutton CS850GT will set British consumers back £115 000 approximately (R2,26 million) which is more than double the cost of a factory GT500.
