After hearing the complaints of many, the DeLorean Motor Company has moved up the unveiling of the DeLorean EVolved from the 18th of August to the 31st of May. That’s less than 20 days away!
You asked. We listened. We’re counting down to the first complete look of the all-new DeLorean.

Until now, we’ve only seen shots of the car’s rear end, its gull-wing doors in action, and one or two NFTs, but now we may get a glimpse at the evolution of a moniker that has garnered a cult following over the years.
Visually the EVolved is a smoother bodied car compared to its ancestor, the DMC12. The most captivating quality of the EVolved – mainly because it’s one of the few things we’ve been able to lay our eyes on – is the rear light bar that stretches from either side of the car’s rear. The EVolved attempts to draw some similarities with the DMC12 while redefining the nameplate’s image through the use of electric vehicle technology. There has been no information provided about the car’s powertrain architecture. We know that it’s an EV, but we still don’t know what makes it tick.
The design of the car was the work of Italdesign. Looking at their previous automotive projects like the Nissan GT-R50, it’s safe to assume that the EVolved will hold on to a few significant styling elements from the DMC12 while expanding and redefining the iconic image. As for the exterior, all that we have seen thus far is the appearance of the rear louvres, the rear taillights, and the gull-wing door silhouette.
The hope is that the EVolved is a true evolution of the DeLorean nameplate and doesn’t follow in the footsteps of its predecessor which was a bit of a flop. In a market already saturated with a number of nearly identical electric vehicles, the main objective of the EVolved is to offer a special EV that breaks the mould. The DMC12 saw only 8 987 models manufactured and sold, so hopefully, the marque’s next project trumps its first attempt…
