DFSK is continuing to make inroads with the South African market with its diverse range of electrified and conventionally powered light commercial vehicles.
Backed by the combined strength of Chinese automotive giants Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Sokon Industry Group, DFSK has established a global presence since 2003, reaching over 70 countries. The brand’s focus on accessible pricing has resonated with customers worldwide, including in South Africa. DFSK’s current South African line-up caters to diverse consumer needs with a range of practical vehicles. Key offerings include the K01S Bakkie, the C35 Panel Van and all-electric EC35 and EC31 models.
The K01S Bakkie is designed as a robust workhorse. Its manoeuvrable design and 985 kg load capacity make it a practical choice. Powering the K01S is a four-cylinder petrol engine producing 65 kW of power and 115 N.m of torque. The starting price is set at R189 900 and goes up to R216 062.50.

DFSK is also embracing electric mobility with the EC31 and EC35. These models utilise a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 38.7 kWh. The firm claims an operating range of 275 km. A rear electric motor delivers 60 kW and 200 N.m. Charging options include 6.6 kW AC charging and DC fast charging at 40 kW, the latter of which allows for a 10-80% recharge of 35 minutes.
