Daimler’s push towards electrification continues with the latest teaser image of its upcoming Mercedes-Benz EQE sedan which will slot right under the EQS. Joining this car on the stage will also be the group’s all-electric Mercedes-AMG and a Mercedes-Maybach concept. These new models will break cover officially at the 2021 IAA in Munich which will take place from the 7th to the 12th of September.
The all-electric Mercedes-AMG will be the first ever battery electric luxury saloon for the group. It will be displayed as the performance arm’s commitment to fuse fully electric models with the traditional characteristics of AMG’s DNA. This is not in relation to the car’s performance figures, but also its involving and emotive handling characteristics. Not much information regarding the Mercedes-Maybach has been revealed but Daimler does state that it will be a fluid impression of how its 100-year tradition of ultimate automotive luxury can be carried forward into a new era.
The Mercedes-Benz EQE has been described as an electric business saloon that offers sporty and comfortable dynamics by combining engaging performance and handling with relaxed travel in mind. As per the brand’s claims, the new offering aims to set the benchmark in its class. Thanks to a one-bow bodyshell design, as seen on the EQS, it’s also expected to offer generous cabin space with an athletic physique.
Joining these three cars at the 2021 IAA will also be the Mercedes-Benz EQB which was unveiled in China this April. This seven-seater electrified alternative to the Mercedes-Benz GLB will make its debut in Europe together with Mercedes-AMG’s first ever performance hybrid, recently revealed Mercedes-Benz S680 Guard and the first-ever Mercedes-Benz C-Class All-Terrain semi-crossover.
