The European-spec Kia Sportage has been detailed in a series of sketches ahead of its official reveal which is due to take place early next month. The new model will be destined for the European market and will bring with it a number of advanced features and design cues.
The European arm of the South Korean brand says that the European-spec Kia Sportage boasts a forward-thinking design that builds on the theme ‘Bold for Nature’ and pays homage to nature’s perfection and simplicity whilst connecting with the brand’s new design direction. The sketches provided, hint at a sporty and assertive SUV.
The European-spec Kia Sportage will feature a more compact and adventurous profile hinting at heightened levels of agility and performance that are deemed suitable for its local roads. With a goal to be the most dynamic and stylish SUV in its segment, the crossover will feature a muscular stance and a strong yet refined silhouette with crisp, taught character lines that ripple across the surfaces.
The sketches of the European-spec Kia Sportage also portray a bold front-end design with a detail-orientated black grille graphic spanning the width of the face. A fresh interpretation of the brand’s iconic floating signature Tiger Nose grille combines with distinctive boomerang-shaped LED DRLs and Matrix LED headlamps.
Representing another first for the Sportage range, the sketches show-off a black roof that aims to further accentuate the sporting profile of the all-new generation model, while highlighting a dynamic C-pillar design treatment.
At the rear, powerful and broad shoulder lines meet slim rear LED combination taillamps flanked by the new Kia logo. A unique black rear bumper design further emphasises the sporty and youthful character of the European-spec Kia Sportage.
European sales this Sportage will commence later this year in the European market with plans to expand into the UK. A local introduction into South Africa for this example is yet to be detailed.
