The facelifted Audi Q2 has been revealed, featuring subtly revised exterior styling and fresh technology.

Audi South Africa says the updated model is scheduled to launch locally in the second quarter of 2021.

Interestingly, the tweaked Q2 is a few millimetres longer than the original, now measuring 4 210 mm from nose to tail (width and height are unchanged, though).

The small crossover gains redesigned headlamps and a fresh rear diffuser insert, while the grille is positioned slightly lower than before.

In Europe, the refreshed Q2 now ships standard with LED headlamps, while Matrix LED items are available as an option. For the reversing lights, buyers can choose between two LED versions; with or without dynamic indicators. In addition, if the top-spec lighting package is selected, the Q2 gains the sort of lock-and-unlock light sequencing displayed by large Audi models.

The Ingolstadt-based firm says the Q2 scores five new colour options and various fresh alloy-wheel designs, while the air vents and the gear lever feature a new look. Another addition to the range is the Dinamica microfibre material, which replaces Alcantara as an option.

Base models employ an analogue instrument cluster and the MMI radio plus system, while the 12,3-inch Audi virtual cockpit and 8,3-inch MMI navigation plus are offered further up the line-up.

In Germany, the facelifted Q2 is offered with a 1,5 TFSI four-cylinder engine generating 110 kW and 250 N.m. Audi says “further TDI and TFSI engines will be added before the end of the year”.
