Haval has whipped the wraps off the refreshed H6, which boasts updates all around. Here’s what we know about the revised model so far.

Sporting a fresh face and several additional cosmetic enhancements, the updated Haval H6 has been revealed. However, bar the exterior redesign, there is much more to the revised model, with the most notable upgrade being the mechanical components which propel it forward.

From an exterior point of view, the H6 has been handed a brand-new grille design, which incorporates the latest iteration of the “Haval” badge and comprises what looks like matte-finished chrome elements. In addition, the headlamps, replete with daytime-running lights, are integrated into the large front grille.
A significant update to the exterior, the former taillamp design, which featured a light bar spanning the tailgate, has been ditched in favour of separate rear lamps. “Haval” lettering can be found between the latter items. Viewed from the side, the glasshouse remains similar to that of the pre-facelifted model. However, new-look wheels are present.
In addition, those with a keen eye will notice that the H6’s bodywork has been stretched. The revised model measures 4 703 mm nose to tail, an increase of 50 mm. The width (1 886 mm) and height (1 730 mm) have remained, however.

The powertrain options have remained the same. As a reminder, locally, the current H6 is available with a 2.0-litre, turbocharged, four-cylinder petrol unit and a petrol-electric hybrid set-up. However, although no word has yet been given on the latter arrangement, the 150 kW 2.0-litre four-pot, which is coupled with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, will receive a power increase of around 15 to 20 kW.
Serving as one of the GWM group’s best selling models locally, South Africa is expected to receive the newcomer in the near future. Exact timing and pricing is still unknown but the current lineup starts from R492 050 for the Premium model and spanns all the way up to R679 950 for the HEV Ultra Luxury.
