Heading to Australia in the near future? You may want to squeeze your Ford Ranger into your hand luggage, because Tickford is back with some nifty upgrades for the big bakkie.
Yes, the tuner has returned Down Under thanks to Prodrive Racing. And it is offering all sorts of goodies for the 3,2-litre Ranger (one can easily spend the equivalent of R220 000, according to motoring.com.au).
The performance package adds a new air-filter, intercooler, pipe kits, 2,5-inch cat-back exhaust and a spot of ECU tuning, which together move the five-cylinder turbodiesel’s peak outputs to around 170 kW and 560 N.m (from the stock 147 kW and 470 N.m).
Tickford has not provided any performance figures, but claims the updates lend the Ranger a significantly improved throttle response. The company also offers a cheeky side-exit exhaust system with dual carbon tailpipes.
Furthermore, a suspension package can be specified, comprising Bilstein dampers, King springs and exclusive 20-inch wheels. Tempted?
