After a number of years on the market, the Fiat 500 has received a facelift. Although it might look like only a small number of changes have been made, Fiat claims that 1 800 changes have been made to the car.
The changes at the front are quite obvious. There are new headlights and LED daytime running lights. Then there is also a lot of additional chrome around the front of the car. However, these chrome inserts are also model dependent.
At the rear the lights have also been revised, while the smaller fog lamps have been moved to the corners of the car. Further visual updates include the option of new 15- and 16-inch wheels, of which both will be offered in different designs. As expected, this is also the case with the exterior colour.
It would seem that one of the most notable updates is the infotainment system in the interior. The Uconnect system features a 5-inch touchscreen. There is also a new steering wheel, while the more expensive Lounge model will be available with a 7-inch TFT display.
The engine range will entail the 0,9-litre TwinAir and the 1,2-litre petrol units. Both these units will be offered with two power ratings. There will also be a 1,3-litre Multijet turbodiesel.
Expect these changes to filter through to the Abarth models as well.
Local introduction of the updated models is likely to take place before the end of the year, or early next year.
