The Ford Ranger Raptor Special Edition will be introduced to the South African market as somewhat of a farewell for this generation of the bakkie that has seen an impressively successful run. Pricing for this model which will be produced in limited numbers has now been revealed.
Thanks to data sourced by duoporta, it has been confirmed that the Ford Ranger Raptor Special Edition will be priced at R965 300. Included in this is a plethora of additional standard features and a sportier interior design.
You’ll be able to finish your Ford Ranger Raptor Special Edition in Sea Grey, Frozen White, Blue Lightning and Agate Black paint finishes. This will be contrasted by twin matte black racing stripes edged with red contrast lines to the bonnet, roof, lower body sides, rear wings and tailgate to further emphasise the performance bakkie’s high-performance character.
This look is further accentuated by red front tow hooks together with matte black flared wheel arches, front and rear bumpers, door handles and a signature Ford-embossed grille. The integrated black sports hoop derived from the Ranger Wildtrak has been included to the design as well to add further flair to the muscular appearance.
As standard, a lockable Mountain Top black roller shutter, previously seen on the Ranger Thunder, is included in the Ford Ranger Raptor Special Edition package to safely secure goods in the load compartment, away from prying eyes and protected from the elements.
Within the cabin, red stitching for the steering wheel, instrument panel and door cards have been applied to create a sporty feeling. Standard high-grain leather seats and a special edition-only Raceway Grey instrument panel add further exclusivity.
Unchanged on the special bakkie is the twin-turbodiesel 2,0-litre four-cylinder engine with a power output of 157 kW and 500 N.m of torque which is sent to the 4×4 system via a 10-speed automatic torque converter. The aluminium front double wishbones multi-link rear architecture also maintains the specially developed Fox shock absorbers with Position Sensitive Damping that moderates damping forces in response to changing driving scenarios. General Grabber AT3 all-terrain tyres offer maximum grip on loose surfaces.
