Ford has provided the Fusion with a much needed performance enhancement which includes a new engine and a spiced up body. Ford’s primary aim behind this is to tackle the 3,5-litre V6 variants of Toyota’s Camry (A model we no longer have) and Honda’s Accord.
The Fusion V6 Sport will come equipped with a twin-turbo 2,7-litre EcoBoost which delivers 242 kW and 475 N.m of torque mated to an all-wheel drive setup. it also has an adaptive suspension with pothole detection. In terms of design it has also been given a slight revision with a few extra tailpipes and side-skirts, air-intakes and a fresh set of 19-inch alloys.
The Fusion V6 Sport reveal is accompanied by the Platinum model which retains the 2,0-litre EcoBoost but with the all-wheel drivetrain attached to it. More changes are made to the interior which will receive Cocoa leather for the door panels and Venetian leather for the steering wheel. A metallic paint grille and unique 19-inch wheels are also added.
Strangely no performance figures have been provided with this announcement for either models.
